New to Fermilab and Mu2e
If you are not registered as a Fermilab user, or your Fermilab ID has expired, please follow the instructions on the Mu2e FermilabID page. This will lead you to an integrated process get a Fermilab ID and computing accounts. As part of this process, you will be given an email YOUR_USERNAME@fnal.gov
. Since lab-based and automatic emails may be sent to this address, and your colleagues may assume they can reach you there, be sure to monitor this address, or set forwarding to your primary email account. And if you change your primary email account, be sure to update your forwarding.
This process can take one month; so start early.
Please also check that you are familiar with the resources at the new members page.
New to Mu2e
If you already have Fermilab computer accounts, including kerberos and services principals, but do not have accounts on the Mu2e computers, please go to this page in the Service Desk.
- You may be prompted for the username and password of your services account (NOT your kerberos principal and password).
- In the field for "Institution Name", fill in the name of your home institution.
- From the "Select Affiliation/Experiment" pull down menu, select "E-973 (Mu2e Muon to ElectronConversion)".
Within a day ( usually less than a few hours ) you should get an email saying that you have accounts on the Mu2e computers. If you do not get this email after one day, send email to Rob Kutschke ( see the Fermilab online phone book ).
What's next
Once your accounts are created, please proceed to the computing overview and computing login pages.
