Introduction

This page describes Fermilab training courses that people working on Mu2e are required to take. Most of these courses train you to work in ways that are safe for you, for your colleagues and for our equipment. Other courses train you to keep information secure.

Required Courses

Everyone working on Mu2e must take the following courses:

  • General Employee Radiation Training (GERT) (FN000735 )
  • Basic Computer Security (FN000374).

In order to do work in the Mu2e building, you must complete:

  • Mu2e Building Hazard Awareness training (PDMC2001)
  • Work Planning and Controls (FN000682).
  • When you wish to enter the Mu2e building you must coordinate it with the Mu2e Integration Team (mu2e-integrationteam@fnal.gov).
  • After you have completed these courses please contact Dee Hahn (Fermilab phone book).

Those people who will encounter radioactivity related hazards in their work must also take:

  • Radiation Worker Training: FN000471CR, FN000471OJ, FN000731CB.

Signing up for Courses

The Fermilab training system is organized around an "Individual Training Needs Assessment" (ITNA). This records what course you have taken, what courses you still need to take and when refresher training is due. To see your ITNA

 https://www-esh.fnal.gov/pls/apex/f?p=139:1:11860969803571

You need to authenticate using your SSO password. From time to time your ITNA will be updated by either your line manager (for employees) or the Mu2e Safety Coordinator (for others).

On this page you can enroll for courses by clicking the "Enroll" button in the left hand column. If a course that you must take is not in the list, contact either your line manager (for employees) or the Mu2e Safety Coordinator (others).
