Introduction
The output from the Mu2e Detectors is a large amount of electronic information, like voltages or currents, that change as a function of time. The goal for the reconstruction is to take this raw detector output and apply algorithms that recognize the signatures that various particles with a range of energies would leave in the detectors. Converting from the detector-level information to candidate particles with likely momentum and angular distributions is known as reconstruction, because we attempt to reconstruct the physics processes that occurred in our detectors.
