Note! As of early 2017, the lab and Mu2e uses mostly the ReadyTalk video/audio conferencing software described here. During 2017, this will be phased out and replaced with zoom.

You can connect to a ReadyTalk conference over the phone (via a toll-free number) or on a computer. If you participate via a computer, and if the meeting host configures the meeting appropriately, you will also be able to see the meeting material as it is presented. To participate via a computer you need to download the ready talk software that is available at the ReadyTalk web site.

Normal Mu2e practice is to put meeting presentations into doc-dbprior to the meeting so that you can also follow the presentation by downloading it from doc-db.

To participate in a ReadyTalk meeting, by either phone or computer, you need the numerical access code that will be provided by the meeting host (the host may, optionally, protect the meeting with a password that he/she will also distribute).

Three important ReadyTalk links are:

For your convenience, these are also found on the Mu2e internal page.

Most Mu2e members will not need to host ReadyTalk meetings, only attend them. You do NOT need a ReadyTalk account to attend meeting but you do need one to host meetings. If your home institution subscribes to ReadyTalk, you should normally get your ReadyTalk account via your home institution.

If you need to get a ReadyTalk account via Fermilab's ReadyTalk subscription, follow these instructions.

  1. Log in to the Fermilab Service Desk web portal, service-now.
  2. Click on Self-Service (left-hand menu). The menu will expand.
  3. Click on Service Catalog (left-hand menu). The Service Catalog will appear in the right-hand frame.
  4. In the Service Catalog under "Accounts," click Request a ReadyTalk Account.
  5. Fill out the form; under "Affiliation" choose "E-973 (Muon to Electron Conversion)".
  6. Enter any special instructions/requests you might have.
  7. Click Submit.
